Cats have developed a special way of falling that slows down there decent rate considerably. Usually you would fall at a terminal velocity of about 80mph but cats can slow themselves down to 20mph. This coupled with the fact that they always land on their feet, explains why this cat hit the ground running in perfect shape.

Scientists have discovered that cats only die when they fall from about two floors up, any lower and they can just land, any higher and they have time to spread their legs and glide. Cats have even survived falling from aircraft.
