No, a fake one never feels better than a real one. The only exception is when the fake isn't trying to pretend it's real, like how funny commercials do. What gave this one away was the cartoonish kick at the end, like others have said. Classic overacting. Also, how could he NOT know his hatchback was open when it's part of his cabin? It's not like a trunk where it's totally separate from you. He'd feel the wind coming from the gaping hole and hear the increased road noise from the rear.
