This was a good thing. She learned an important lesson about wheels and curbs. It probably didn't kill her, and now she's wiser for the experience.

What I think is kinda weird is the father had to have seen that coming. I mean it was so predictable what was going to happen as she was crossing the street and heading for the curb. But he didn't say anything like "watch out" or even make a last second strange sound like "Gah!" when she hit the curb. It's like he just let it happen so he would have something to show people.
