This isn't a new invention. I remember seeing a show and someone in the 30's or 40's invented it. But it was on a Model T type car and the spare tire on the back would come down allowing them to paralell park perfectly. For some reason it didn't catch on and he couldn't sell his invention. I don't know why, it was really cool.

Must have something to do with the added weight and cost. Personally, I'm waiting for those Minority Report cars that automatically drive you to your destination while you have your hands free to man the yogurt cannon.
