I think the same principle should apply at boat shows as applies at air shows; where the crowd are kept behind a virtual safety perimeter of ten feet when a pilot is doing a loop-de-loop or an inverted cross. It only takes one tiny lapse in concentration while listening to the radio or watching an in-flight movie at the wrong moment and things like this, or much worse: where a boat or plane hits a tower block or, worse still, a crèche, and we'll all be saying, "I told you so," which is wrong, because I told you so, so you should be saying, "You told us so." I hope I never have to say, "You told me so," because you didn't. I told you so.

On August 17, 1996, 22 people were injured during a Baywatch-themed water ski stunt show at the now closed SeaWorld of Ohio. Andrew R. Schleis, who was driving a boat in the show, lost control after the boat allegedly experienced mechanical failure. The boat crashed five rows deep into the show's stadium resulting in 17 being taken to area hospitals and 5 treated on the scene. Of the 17, at least 4 were listed in critical condition. Of those injured, none has died as a result of the accident. During the accident investigation, the owner of the boat, World Entertainment Services Inc. of Winter Park, Fla., was charged with three marine regulation violations unrelated to the accident.

Goodness me! Now, if they had a video of that, it would most certainly be worth watching, Ricky. Thanks for telling me about this incident, anyway, as it demonstrates that what we saw in this video isn't just a one-off. I told you so, actually.

Wow, I have not seen that in a long time, my family and I were at that show one week prior, sitting in the front row, just not near the crash site.
We found out that the boat was controled by an additional person under the bow, the stunt consisted of a "driver" falling out of the boat, and the unseen driver stears the boat out, back into the lake. This instane, so I read, the controls hidden malfunctioned, and caused this crash.
