I had it done, both eyes. Except the version I had uses a laser to slice open the front of the cornea rather than that glorified cheese slicer. They peel back the surface of the cornea, then use another laser to sculpt the inner cornea layer to act like a contact lense, then lay the surface layer back over... If they sculpted the surface of the cornea, it would heal opaque. The laser sculpting is unimpressive in the video, as the beam is invisible.
