There are a likely a hundred civil conflicts to pick from since its in Africa, and ofcourse he speaks english since Africa was colonized by the UK. I dont think they cared about the camera man at all, they were rebels of some kind, meaning no laws besides their own, i dont think their number one worry is being on CNN.

Did some detective work at Wikipedia, and this clip might be from the Nigerian Civil War of 1967-1970. That one was between Nigeria and the breakaway Republic of Biafra. Lone Star, I salute you for doing some research and providing a link for more info. People asked why they shot while the camera was on them but the reporter walked away. Here's a theory -- while the reporter was closer, he could have intervened. He seemed to be expressing concern about the man's fate. Once he's away and can't do anything, they kill the man on camera so they can make an example out of him. And as for the comments about "black on black," etc., keep this in mind: there's video out there of the same sorts of things happening in the Balkans. Serbs, Croats, etc. Skin color is irrelevant in these matters and no one has cornered the market on cruelty.

@ Scott & Sir D.... There's a break in the filming at 00:50. They may have waited until the reporter drove off to do the dirty deed. And who says that the cameraman was WITH the reporter? Maybe the cameraman was with the killers and they were filming it to show other Biafrins what to expect if they were caught. After all, the cameraman doesn't flinch or say a word as someone who wasn't expecting that would do. JMHO.

Real. Cameraman was part of the Nigerian rebel hunters, not with the British reporters. They cut the tape when the reporters leave and resume filming later. During the "interview", the Nigerians knew the prisoner was a Biafrian rebel as you can see the Nigerian captain nod to his lieutenant when the prisoner says "I am not a Biafrian soldier but I can take you to the place where they are"... as if to say, "see, he knows where they are". The resolution is too low to see entry wounds but you can't easily fake the bushes pushed back by the shots.

The journalist's name is John Pilger and if I remember correctly, this is from a docufilm called something like the Killing Fields. John Pilger would DEFINITELY have intervened had he been present. This seminal journalist has done more than anyone else (in my humble opinion) to highlight man's inhumanity to man. This definitely isn't fake. This happened in the Nigerian Biafran war, when a part of Nigeria tried to break away and form its own country in the 70's. Besides, the last name Kanu is indiginous to the the eatern part of Nigeria which tried to break away to form Biafra. I should know because I am from Eastern Nigeria.

I Found out the guy who shot and Killled that dude was Exacuted 3 days Later for Killing a Cavilian and he was infact not an enemy.
The dude who shot him was shot in the same manner by the Murdered Cavilians Family and then his Remains were infact Severed the Head Mounted in the Center of the gountry and the arms and Legs were hung on the 4 corners of Nigeria as a warning to the enemy soldiers.
