For those of you asking how jumping into water can hurt as suicide, let's put it this way: when you dive into the water you try to go in with the least amount of resistance. Well, when people belly flop or do a back flop it hurts like hell because you've just forced the hydrogen molecules in the water to act as a brief solid surface having not made a smooth entry into the water. Therefore, the wider and more spread out you are, the more the water is going to resist since it has to compensate for the area lost with the surface tension on impact. Even if you completely became a "stick" from that high, you're going too fast and don't give enough time for the surface tension to compensate accordingly.
