UH, IT does WORK.UNFORTUNATELY.

It would only work on a car that has automatic locks that are a vacuum system instead of an electronic mechanical system. The only ones that I know of are Volkswagens and Audis. There may be more, but it's not a very widely used system. So, this tennis ball trick should only work on a small percentage of cars, and nothing older than the 90's I would guess.

I guess keeping a spare key is out of the question?

Why should this work? WHY? It´s not like when you use the key (or the remote) that there is some pressure that the key makes, that opens the car. Most doors on cars have a wire (string) mechanism that locks and unlucks the doors. This video is just stupid.

Why not buy one of those little plastic boxes that has a magnet embedded on the back and a lid on the otherside, sold expressly for a spare key which can then be place anywhere underneath the car. Saved my ass one day when I left the engine running,then locked the bloody door. I panicked for a few moments, ready to break a side window, until I remembered about the spare key. Sold in any auto shop for the price of 20 smokes!

It does work, but only on certain older, crappier cars, and a lot of foreign cars. However, the inside of American car doors is not air-tight. It doesn't matter how much air pressure you generate, because it's just going to disapate throughout the rest of the door.
