Wow fuckin great fight,between power and speed,Ray has good power in his punches but jorge was too wirey and fast he has a great technique his punches are weak as fuck but his speed means he's able to land 3 or more in a row and it doesnt matter how weak they are coz 3/4 punches to the face is gonna hurt.And yea TOMMYLEE thats Kimbo I presume this was the undercard to a Kimbo fight but the undercard ones are usually more entertaining seen as Kimbo usually obliterates his weakass opponents.

Yeah it was Kimbo. The skinny dude was way too quick for ray. He wore Ray down. Ray was breating pretty hard there at the end of the fight and the skinny dude was still fresh.
I thought the same thing about those spin back hands. What, did he think it was a movie or something. The skinny dude saw them coming a mile away and just stepped back.

Jorge seems to have good skills, but seems to lack experience. When Ray was throwing those front kicks, he should have side-stepped them and knock Ray's teeth out. Those kicks were very predictable, so after the 3rd time in a row he should have smacked him already.
Ray obviously has good power, he knocked the first guy out pretty hard and fast. Unfortunately Jorge lacks power, otherwise Ray would have been eating concrete a long time ago.
And wtf is up with them not giving Ray a count as soon as he hit the ground. Kimbo had to order that bitch to count.

It's physics - the faster you throw a punch, the quicker you close the distance, the harder they're going to hit, especially with this guys technique. Extremely surprising that someone this small gave Ray such a run for his money. Ray is actually a part of the Kimbo crew, he's an up and coming fighter but I've never thought he was that good. Kimbo has a lot of experience fighting, you can tell by the way he slides punches, it doesn't look like Ray has that kind of experience yet.
Not a bad fight. That first guy was big but had no heart.
I don't know, every once in a while those spinning backfists will work, they have to be used relatively sparingly though. I've seen a couple UFC fights end because the guy just had no idea it was coming. This guy did it pretty sloppy though.

Obviously he had the better fundamentals. Just goes to show that everyone from kimbo's "camp" relies on fighting unskilled opponents and lucky shots.
but at least ray isn't afraid to take a knee to the face, unlike kimbo. because he obviously allows them.
Skinny dude lit his face up quite a few times and I liked the useage of body shots.
seems like"ray" is slightly versed in kickboxing..not very much but at least a little. he was iggnorant to use the spinning backhand, because that technique is only useful to catch an aggresive opponent off guard. The skinny guy was picking his shots = he was not aggressive.

nice how he fought a totally unskilled opponent, then fought a pro fighter. Just so he could keep his "street cred" and say he was tired from the first fight.

You're right about the speed of your punch. The quicker you snap your punch back, the more it stuns your opponent. That's one reason why Bruce Lee was so effective with Jeet Kun Do. Decrease the time of impact, increase the force exerted. A good analogy is comparing driving your car into a haystack vs. driving your car into a brick wall at the same speed. That's what it does to your opponent's brain on a much smaller scale.
@vid: That's nice to see. Speed and technique wins the fight. He let him wear himself out with those spinning backfists and then used the counterstrike. It looked like at the end the thing that mad Ray quit was the body blows. He was only worried about getting hit in the face and he left his ribs exposed. Just goes to show that size really isn't much of an advantage if you know how to fight.

Nice fight for standup rules. Not a big fan of standup bare knuckle boxing but these guys had some skills. And for you who say the low kick shit is weak, you would get owned if you didn't know how to defend a kick. A solid low kick to the upper leg can win the fight, it doesnt look as cool as a face punch but taking out someones leg means taking all the power from their punch. If you have any exp. fighting you will know that the majority of your power in a punch comes from your leg. these guys are aware of that so if Kimbo tought them Kimbo must have some Tai boxing knowledge wick would help him become a more well rounded fighter himself. Then maybe he could step into the ring with UFC or K1.

The spinning move contributing for sure, but I think it was all those haymakers he was throwing... My old man use to box and he attempted to teach me.
You make your arms tired with all of those wild swings. Notice how both men started dropping their guard. How many times did that one guy yell out, "Keep your hands-up, Ray!â€
The littler fella kept his attack on the inside with straight jabs and rights. There did not appear to be a reach advantage, but he planned his attack better then the other fella.
Overall, a good fight and better then most we have seen. At least I can understand why these guys are fighting!!!

I heard that you should keep your chin tucked down, so that you don't get knocked out. Also, to keep your guard (hands) up at all times, rather than dropping them like many fighters do. Also, that you should move your head around so that it's a harder target to hit.

When you get wraped up like they did, and your in close, grab their head with both hands pulling it down to rest on your shoulder (not under your chin or you could get your teeth chalked) while their head is on your shoulder step back slightly with one leg, and while pulling their upper body by head down bring your back knee up into their stomach, does major damage but these guys only know how to throw punches. They do it well but it takes alot less skill then Tai boxing.

The "chin tucked down" depends on you, your physical make-up, your intentions, your "style", & exactly what your looking to do.

THERE is a stance for every scenario, it also depends on WHO you're fighting. I love MMA!! I have to be honest though, it kinda sucks that now EVERYONE is a fan and a wannabe fighter. Suddenly the gyms were I used to take lessons, are completely filled with "bad boys" who just wanna learn to fight to feed their ego, and girls, who thought it was cute the way guys wrestled to the ground on tv.
Makes me want to get oiled up, jump into my thights err.........wrong occassion

UFC fags were half the reason i left that gym (was a muay thai/silat school) and joined a local judo school...the judo school isn't that bad. they're not as sport-oriented as most judo schools, which is always good.
