That video is at least 10 years old because I remember seeing it at least that long ago. A couple of those people being tortured were American tourists who were pulled from their car and beaten in front of their children. I also remember seeing something which said that due to that video the Brazilian government was embarassed and pressured by the U.S into taking action against those cops and any like them. I'm not sure what their punishment was, but a couple of them are definitely able to shit a watermelon now.

Brazil is beautiful, from the amazon, to the girls and the beach of rio, the christ statue, the 4 biggest city in the world, Sao Paulo, the south of Brazil where all girls look like Gisele Bundchen, the Victoria Secret, Adriana Lima, and many other sports ilustrated and top models...
the south of Brazil it's all german, and the women are amazing, not to mention the great bbq southern style, the nature, the currency...
everything is cheap... Brazil it's awesome...

Indeed, many of you should agree with this statement. Ecks2007 is right… the Brazil police are a lot more ruthless to criminals then the US police. Some of you have mentioned City of God, there is another that comes to my mind... it’s called Central Station. In that movie, some teenage kid steals an electronic device from a street vendor. After chasing the kid down, the police officer takes the law into his own hands, and shoots the kid in the head. The director of course, was criticizing this very real problem in the country. But hey, that’s his opinion right? Hopefully one day, we Americans can aspire to reach that kind of competence, and skip the whole court bullshit; terms like “due process” are for pansies.

yes i was born over there, been living in the U.S for over a decade now...
i usually go to Brazil once a year, great destination if you go to the right place... a huge variety of food, women, and cheap beer...
nothing like it... chillin at the beach surrounded by these adriana lima look a like girls, eating grilled shrimp and drinking 25Cents bottles of beer, not to mention, cheap hotels with internet access, cheap cabs, and women dying of curiosity simply because u live overseas...
i should be going again in June or July... can't wait...

Dude, they were not tourists, they were all Brazilians and that shit happened in a slum in Sao Paulo called Favela Naval, in the borough of Diadema. The dirty cops were at the entrancy of the slum, a well known place to buy drugs and guns. What they did was very wrong, the cop nicknamed Rambo (the biggest) has been actually found gilty and will be serving for the next 14 years in prision. He deserves a life sentece, but Brazilian laws won't allow that.

Brazil is a wonderful place to visit and live, if you know how to avoid dodgy places. Every city/country has its good and bad places. I'm in London at the moment., and if you go to Peckham or Brixton at night, you better carry a Desert Eagle or a .357.

If you plan to go for a holiday, google "Fernando de Noronha", "Porto de Galinhas", "Bonito", "Maceio", "Blumenau" or "Florianopolis" . Check the photos and have your own conclusion.
