God was something created by weak humans just to have something to blame if anything goes wrong, and well, something to pray, just like people centuries ago used to worship animals, and idols, today we have God.

My opinion on God? I don't believe in him. I was raised to, and then figured it out for myself that there's no real reason to believe in him, other than someone else saying that he exists. :rolleyes

Um Yeah.....I think a more accurate description is that Sam Kinison died because he didn't believe in seatbelts and two idiot kids decided to drink and drive and hit his car head on. He had also been clean and sober for six months and had been making an effort to get back into religion when he died. So much for turning the other cheek huh? Also, shouldn't God have made sure the engineers who made such blasphemous comments against His power were onboard the Titanic before He moved that iceberg into it's path? Do you really trust a God who would kill 1500 folks to prove a point to a handful of others?
If God is that thin skinned to go around smiting anyone who says anything bad about him, well perhaps He needs some therapy and you have to wonder why you're following a deity who is so hellbent on avenging His rep. I have nothing against people who believe in a higher power if that's what gets them through the day, but please allow some logic to enter your rebuttal. Those two examples of God's "wrath" and the priceless "sinning through genetics" bit were simply intellectual diarrhea.

no andy,it doesn't, but then, you've never been in that situation - your first child, with the woman you love, everybody happy for you, then all of a sudden - BANG - you have a disabled child. would you just walk out on your child? that happened to my parents (first child, born fine, but got meningitis at 3 days old in the hospital), and we had the happiest family ever. my sister has spent more time in hospitals than i've spent drinking beer with my mates (that's a friggin long time, trust me 
) i like to think that growing up with a disabled sister has taught me some things about life, and about accepting others.
Everytime I see my sister I thank God that she's alive, we try to give her as good a quality of life as possible. A lot of people that see my sister think "why would God do such a thing to her?" but then, she brings joy to many people, a simple thing like a smile on her face makes me sooo happy. i can't explain it...

@ umm yeah, i usually agree with you sir, but to suggest that god killed sammy because he made jokes about him is to assume that god has nothing better to do than spend his afternoons watching comedy central. some would say that god should spend that time saving little girls faces from being deformed and not wory too much about what a recovering alcoholic comedian has to say about him. keep up the faith, tho.

I honestly don't believe in god, I was brought up a strict catholic. but like someone else said before me, I grew out of it. To be honest, I have no idea how the world came to be etc. None whatsoever. If people want to believe, it's great for them. If it makes them happy, more power to them. The human perception of god is too narrow minded. Humans seem to think that the creator of the universe has nothing better to do than watch us all the time and do useless things like make our kids deformed for no reason. The reality of it is, if there is a superior being it would have to keep the universe in balence cos we arnt the only intelligent beings in the universe a superior being would have to worry about. That girl is deformed because of her parents she is a product of her mother and father, not god. she mite have gotten that way by something like a non disjunction disorder or maybe jus bad luck. Im not going to go into detail about the whole god debate but jus keep an open mind, the universe is endless we arnt god's only problem it has the entire universe to worry about not jus us.

@ Vermin.... I agree with you. When a child is born disabled/deformed/mentall y challenged, it really teaches the family the true meaning of love. It's a big wake-up call to realize what's important in life and what doesn't matter. A lot of people sweat the small stuff not realizing how lucky they truly are.

According to relativity of time and my point of view to the universe and time, the earthly time concept is ignorable compared to other forms of time. Someone thinks the time passes that long and events happen meanwhile.But...If we accept this earthly existence is a shade being reflected from outer sources and if we could see some logic in the idea that all the history up to now from the beginnging of universe is just 0.00000005 nanoseconds in the criterion of other form of time, then you would not have investigated existence in such fever.
There is a God...
God exists as the power that gets families like this through times like this.
Does it matter is there is or isnt really a guy standing in the clouds claiming power over everything?
Tell these people there is no God, you will probably get an earful.
If you need God, he exists. Period.

@ vid, what an unfortunate genetic event. At least she still has her mind and in the future can impact the world in a positive way if she so chooses.
I say this because I have an autistic sister who isn't so lucky. No, not all people who spend there lives dealing with this sort of thing thank God for the blessings he so graciously bestows upon us.
Just to point it out; genetic mutation is the motivating force of evolution. Sometimes it works out, most of the time it doesn't. We here living today have this to give thanks.

That is to say that the historic suffering of black Americans because of slavery was deserved because "God" being All KNOWING, OMNIPOTENT, AND ALL POWERFUL so choose to inflict suffering upon them for some past offence against him. Further more that the poverty and decimation afflicted by the AIDS virus in Africa must be and is fully deserved. This last statement being further exploited by fundamentalist Christians to damn homosexuals. This is also the same sort of bullshit logic used to justify racism. Oh yeah, maybe all aborted babies are actually Gods will too because their grandparents did something wrong.
It is also a belief of Christians that we have free will and that there in lies much of the explanations for evil. My previous statement about God being all knowing, etc. is also generally excepted. So "ummm yeah" would you care to explain to me that if the second statement of this paragraph is true, and everything I will do is already known then how do I have freewill?

Hey I saw this exact same thing on a Discovery Health Channel special called: Born Without a Face. This little girl was, well, born with out a face. The show basically goes through the daily struggles of the girl and her parents and into the many surgeries they are doing on her to "repair" her face. If there is a god, why would he do such a thing?
