The narrator is obviously the Defense Attorney, he's painting a negative picture of the off duty cop. But like you, I don't have all the facts and judging from the grainy securtiy camera, nothing is truly clear.

Typical police bullshit. They HAD to give him a promotion, and make some kind of bullshit claim to heroism, or fire him. There were no other alternatives. The problem is, they took the wrong road. They should have fired him.

Fuck y'all saying the guy's voice is annoying. His voice is fine, and alleging it WAS annoying, a killing is taking place on camera, and definitely takes precedence to whatever voice is on in the background.

I don't know about the circumstances with the fight or whatnot, but if the cop said he didn't have his gun out until he drew it when he was threatened, and he was surrounded by four or five guys, one of whom swung at him, then he ought to be sitting in jail right now for murder and perjury.

Asdfinish is exactly right. If ANYONE other than a cop would have done this, he'd be on trial for (at least) 2nd-degree murder right now. It's really sick how most people in our society like to put cops on some pedestal and bow to their power and glory! Gotta believe that people with that attitude either have lived in an ivory tower their whole lives, never having experienced what scumbags cops can be, or else are wanna-be cops themselves.

I'm a police officer in La. I can't believe that this man is not locked up for murder. He shot and killed an innocent man. he lied about the whole incident. The man he shot was walking right in front of him as he went to the fight. His superior commanders should also be locked up for upholding his lies. People don't trust us anymore because of bullshit like this. I have worked the streets for 9yrs and have only gotten into 2 physical altercations that were way worse than this and didn't have to shoot anyone. This man and his whole department are a disgrace to the uniform and anyone who supports his claim of self defense should also be disgraced.
