I'm still convinced that yesterday's video is based on a factual story, as the article behind the link I posted seems rather believable to me, whereas Wikipedia's a little contradictory.

What you're seeing there is the less popular format that you'll hardly find on national TV. Many of these brands consist of brutal beat-ups with whatever you can get your hands on (some more, some less staged). It's just stupid. I do enjoy watching professional wrestling myself, but then I certainly focus on the wrestlers' athleticism, way more impressive. :D

this is real, most of you kids only know WWE but there are lots of independent brands and many of them hold very brutal fights like CZW for instance or a couple of japanese brands.
try searching on youtube for wrestling deathmatches or CZW, of course they have storylines and most of the bleeding or blading are staged but NOT fake.
also try searching for the Mass Transit Incident on ECW and see what happens to this 17y kid.

@ alpha.... WOW, I googled the mass transit vid. That was hardcore. The kid had no idea what he was in for. Ironically he died at 22 due to complications from gastric bypass surgery.

I don't know about this video. Looks pretty real to me, but there is no doubt that even things like this *can* be faked.

As for the Mass Transit video above: you can see blood spurting from his head pretty well. However, he was probably in little danger from the cut. Head injuries in healthy people *always* bleed a lot. The arteries in your forehead are small, and bleeding from even large arteries can usually be stopped with direct pressure. Not pretty, and if I were him I'd be pretty pissed, but I have been hurt worse than that before.

hint, right before the arm is " cut" watch for the "wrinkling effect"

they use a rubberized pouch attached around the arm, make it look like muscle, and fill it with fake blood. The pouch is made from a synthetic rubber, both arms are then camoflauged in makeup to give an equal appearence look in color.

this is how they create the GASH illusion. if u watch closely right after the "cut" you will see the gash DRY while blood is coming from another area.
