The video doesnt show the whole story on this one either...there were two cops sneaking up on the other side of that car, they were going to try to ambush him and take him down without using their pistols... but he turned toward them and made what one of the officers interpreted as a "threatening move" toward the oifficers...In the acedemy cops are taught the 21 foot rule. Anyone within 21 feet of you can close on you faster than you you can draw and fire your gun...granted these guys already had drawed down on him, but he was still way to close for comfort...you will notice that the lead cop attempts to back up until the offender makes a move toward the officers hiding behind the car...

well thats crap then, u may be trained to neutralize the situation asap, but he had a KNIFE, why cant a cops use common judgment. i could see if he had a gun, then you want to kill him quick, but a knife, all u got to do is stop him from charging. just cuz u say your a cop doesnt mean that your idea of how to handle things are always right, all it means is your trained to think that way.
