I have also seen this documentary on TV. It was a show about different rights of passage into man hood. The worst one was were, in South America, you have to put these gloves on that are full of huge fire ants (that both sting and bite) and you cant scream or take off the gloves until a certain amount of time. Ridiculous...

I think the worst rite of passage ever was the scarification ritual that was posted on here a while ago. Basically, you lie down and a village elder takes a razor sharp rock and gives you 400 carefully placed slices on your back.
