They were protesting the use of buses to transport tourist to various places. before the buses, tourist had to rely on taxi's or other means to get to where they wanted to go. unfortunately, these other means subjected the tourist to robberies and kidnappings by gangs of thieves, and as this was a major source of income to help keep them in school, they started to protest the new bus services.

The students were protesting because the bus fares prices rose in price, so they cant afford to pay more. It would be like if the public transportation in the U.S turned from 1.25 to 5 dollars. That would make some problems wouldnt it?
They werent protesting because they were hippies.

From what I've been able to observe these past 17 (I'm 20) years it seems my views are true in nearly every sense.

Although in hindsight every nation is capable of acts of violence, America seems to do nothing but broadcast only the saddest and most depressing news at all times just like all the other countries.
