Bears work with "suction" from the asshole.Unlike most mammals and other animals, the bears breathe from the ass. When their adrenaline is activated, the asshole takes in more air, thus the suction from the asshole is more powerful and sometimes it sucks up more than just air. But not too worry, the residue - in this particular case, mud- will plop out later automatically to prevent suffocation.

Shadowlaw : Mother bear's fight to protect their cub's, they fight for territory, or to kill anything randomly and other reasons. A tip for a human if u ever have an encounter with these bears, If u c one up close dont run away just lay still on the ground and dont move a muscle, then It's gonna think ur dead and wont bother trying to chase u down.
