ive seen a dog get a shock off that live rail and it wasnt very nice.because its DC in draws you towards it.also dogs tend to turn around and bite the live rail ,so getting a shock again on the nose.the dog in question got a shock several times before i could get the current isolated.i think it died because it wouldnt let me catch it.

one of the guys I went to uni with died after he fell asleep on the tracks. It can happen to anyone. Granted, he did enjoy the odd ale, but I'm sure we've all done stupid things while we've been wasted. So, for you to say "let him die" grates me a little. We've all had a few too many beers and done stupid shit...eh?!
