As someone who isn't exactly an expert on torpedos, I would have to say this was a perfect strike.

Clearly a conspiracy, with hidden explosives planted personally by George Bush in order to replicate a torpedo attack. Typical.

That was one powerful torpedo.
The devastation is also amplified due to the fact that the explosion occurred under the water.
Ever see a nuke detonated underwater, or even worse, underground? The explosive force must escape, and eventually dissipate.
This will happen more rapidly through the air, as the particles are easier to move. With a liquid, there is more resistance, so there will be more violent movements, and the situation worsens as you attempt to transfer such destructive energy through more solid materials.
It\'s pretty ridiculous what you can do with carefully planned explosives. You could even level a skyscraper, or two.

It's the Australian Destroyer Escort HMAS Torrens being sunk with a MK48 torpedo test fired from the Collins Class Sub HMAS Farncomb.

torpedos dont hit the boat, they explode a lil underneath because the pressure snaps the boat in half

That was not a torpedo, that was a "bubble charge" The most effective way of taking down any vessel (if you can get a swimmmer in to place it... see SEALs) . Place a Limpet mine or a 80lb satchel charge under the hull and this video is what you get. The vessel lifts out of the water and collapses on its own weight.

I've got an invention attach flexy rubber to ur boat when a torpedo hits it it goes back to who fired it and blows them up. Ha

Bubble charge LOL. love when people post and try to sound smart but actually have no clue what they are talking about. It was a torpedo. Unlike what you see in movies torps actually explode about 100 feet under the ship(depends on depth of water and the setting they are set at). The resulting explosion displaces the water and creates a void. The ship will fill that void. The keel snaps under the wieght of the ship.
