I think that the other person to blame for this is the spotter. Your spotter is someone you need to be able to trust. This stupid moron is as inept as the bench presser.

A spotter is there to spot in case you get in trouble and can't lift the weight, not to lift it for you. hence the name "spotter". That douchebag weight lifter should probably try learning some technique AND lift weight that his weak ass is capable of lifting.
