Haha. A couple of guys came into where i work and tried this on me a couple of weeks ago. The problem is they assume that everybody who works behind a till is stupid. I looked at the guy and said "dude, you gave me back 9, but owed me 10 so just give me one more and get the hell out."

In fact, the moral of this story should be that if people want change then tell them to go to a bank.

People try that on me all the time, that's why I either: A- leave the money on top of the register until they leave, or B- If someone asks for change I always tripple check because people are sneaky little bastards. I work in a convenience store btw

Yea. I'm ashamed to say some guy actually got me with this once, when I was working my first job at a Petco. I was young and nervous and didn't know what a quick change artist was. Only got me once though. I had a few people try that afterwards. As soon as they'd ask to swap their change for something else I'd slam the drawer shut, look them straight in the eye and tell them i'd be more than happy to call the manager if they needed something else. Strangely enough, they never did...
Some guy once ripped off both my manager and my assistant manager who were BOTH standing at the cash register while the guy did this. And he still got away with like 40 bucks. I laughed for like a year. My managers were dicks.

unforunatly, what they dont tell you is that when the cashier asks for a managers help witht the situation, and he is familiar dealing with quick change losers and reverse the trick and the morons leave with less money and spit infested food. Fucking Idiots.

It's just sad that someone this young would risk a criminal record for a lousy ten dollars. I don't understand young people these days. I am 57 and I can remember getting my first job and how proud I was. I was 14 and was making my own money. It was just fifty cents an hour but I also had a paper route in the mornings so I made out good. I always had money and could do just about anything I wanted to do. Why would this punk act so proud of being able to cheat someone out of their money? To tell teh truth I am glad I wont be around when this bunch takes over running the country. We are going to be in a hell of a shape.

in the states theres a tv show called Americas most wanted where a lady is a wanted fugitive becuz she been striking at many many stores and fooling clerks by taking out $20'zz or even more with her hands..since money is flat it may look like a single $20 dollar bill even tho theres a chance there cud be even more bills just beneath a 20....,,shes still on the run today

there is a very simple solution to all this....simply don't give the guy any money until you are sure he gave you the correct amount...don't "swap" bills basically.....
and also, when i worked for walgreens 4 years ago, i saw a video of at LEAST 10 years old that showed this exact same scam...time to get new tricks bud.

I've had this tried on me (im a cashier at a liq. store) Didn't work. I threatened to call the cops cause It's a really old scam, and the guy got so flustered he left without his change. Serves him right that f*cking pendejo. This should be illeagal in some way. Teaching people to scam other hard working people is VERY wrong. Get a job, you scam artist little prick. The problem is everywhere now has video shot of the counter.This is called short change artist, if you screw it up once and get caught the cops may have every time you ever did it on film just waiting for your face to fit into the magic mug shot, just like Cinderella. You may get multipliable counts or they may add them all up and say, "You've just entered the felony zone". No thanks, learning this really sucks!
