This scar will not be permanent. The wire was not hot enough for a proper brand. This is merely a shallow blister burn.
So this dude just suffered for nothing.
Oddly, a real branding iron doesn't hurt much, as it kills the nerves pretty much on contact... And it needs to be held in-place only a couple of seconds.
