Convulsions after a crash like this indicate a serious head injury -- physical damage to the brain. They should not have removed his helmet. It could have been the only thing holding his skull together. Also, a head injury often occurs along with a spinal injury, or a risk of spinal injury if you move the head without also moving the whole body and neck with it. Those guys did at least 2 things that could paralyze or kill their friend. Goddamn morons.

I've owned, and crashed Moto X bikes on courses like the one he was on. You learn from stupid mistakes.
It sounds like the bike wasn't running right or was running cold on choke, therefore wouldn't have given him the power to propel him quite as he expected.
If he's able to ride again he'll have learnt that mistake....the hard way.

Do you not recognize the seriousness in this situation, yes we watch these video's for entertainment, but you might attempt to educate yourself on what to do in a life-threatening scenario; like this one. First, it is important to remove the helmet, being gentle is not a priority as you must ensure addequate air flow. secondly, every individual there should grab a limb and hold it firmly against the ground putting pressure on it, this will assist in the nervous system to regain proper neuron firing sequence and may shorten the duration of convulsions, lastly, you should never just walk around freaking out, instead, help your friend.
