Arguing about if Christians also committ mass killings against civilians is pointless. In ISOLATED cases they do, as with McVeigh, and IRA-Ulster bombings. But it is nowhere near as much as the blood lust for INNOCENT lives that Muslim "militants" have. As the major Religions go I'll take a more personal one like Buddhism before I'll accept the merits of one based on fear and/or brutality.
The Bible is a twisted fuckin' book, anyone that's read it and doesn't agree hasn't evolved much more than the cave dwellers either.
The specific words of Jesus draw many parallels to those of Buddha and, in themselves, are admirable... but the book, itself, is filled with justified stonings, beatings and killings.
The Koran merely takes it a step further, with the violent, later words of Mohammed almost contradiciting earlier passages.
No doubt it's a brutal book but nobody with any humanistic sense is going to read it and become a murderer because of it.
The issue is deeper and it permeates our species, our societies at all levels.
Perhaps they need to "evolve" or else vanish like so many before them, I'm just asking others to keep in mind that our own cultures have gone through ugly periods as well--and will face more--and that we're all in a state of evolving and, hopefully, learning to survive in a fairly unpleasant world.
