You hit it right on the money, it was a major artery, and it got sliced in half by the bullet. Other than the fact that it was by the groin, which made it hard to wrap it around in, by the time they got him to the hospital he had lost a tremendous amount of blood already. Apparently the extra delay was the fact that the phone line had been cut at the house, wasting precious seconds.

This wasn't all that surprising. I've heard a lot about dogs like that, and other species of big dogs, attacking black people more often than white people. I don't mean to make this a race issue, I'm just saying, it would have been a little more surprising if he was white. But this was a trained dog. Maybe Pavlov could provide some insight on this. That is, if he were alive..

how are you going to criminalize a man, that was just in the dogs area. that dog had no right to attack that football player, and the cops didn't need to laugh about it. I hope he sues the hell out of the department over that.

well,k9 dogs are trained only to obey their trainer,and the dogs will sink their teeths in anything that comes close to them when they are on the job cause they get so overexited,i have worked with them...

I am willing to play along. And I'm not trying to sound like a blowhard here, but I figured I'd let you know if I had wanted to, hypothetically, I could have caused you quite a bit of drama for losing your temper like you did. I'm all for making wise ass remarks back and forth. And its only because I know you are a just another firebrand that I didn't. You and I are probably more alike than you think. You are just more angry at the world (it seems) than I am.

Long post, I know, but I figured I'd be clear instead of brief. I was going to keep it short, but I figured since you love my long posts so much, I'd give you another.
Dog was there either to check for drugs or bombs, both of them a real issue at any major sporting event. Sports stadiums are high on the list of "soft" targets that terrorists look for, along with schools and universities, shopping malls and that sort of thing...
But I agree I think the dog was a Tide fan
