Not more disturbing than watching footage of people getting blasted to smitherines or getting their throats slit.
What strikes me though, is the way the 911 personnel is answering those calls. I know that they're supposed to remain composed and reassure the caller, but why the heck do they keep asking things the caller just told them???

hey i agree, butt it is diferent when you see a new video every day in this site about an arab killing another arab with that shitty music and chants, and another thing is hearing clearly how some one is being murdered and you can only imagine wat is happening. so to me it is more disturbing in a extrange way than any other video of an execution for example.

Man, it takes a special kind of person to be a 911 operator. Can you imagine being the one who handled that call? I mean, I wonder how she felt later, knowing that woman had been killed while she was on the phone with her. Has to be the most helpless feeling in the world.

How many prank calls do you think they get a day with that kind of content, I expect they get hardened to it in a way, you'd have to.

They need to repeat what the caller says to make sure that it is the correct information. Usually the callers are panicky and spew out their info way too fast for them to hear so they repeat. Usually a few extra seconds wound't make a difference if it meant that all the info was accurate. Unfortunately the killer was still in the house when she called.

Gee - I guess it's too much to ask to get as much information as possible before sending cops into a potentially dangerous situation. That bit of info that might identify who is the victim and who is the perpetrator seems like a waste of time doesn't it?

Heres the questions: Who's the attacker? How many? what are armed with? And police are told as they are en route. Ambulance should go automatically.

What would work better is if as the talking 911 operator types in the situation and flagged it's level of severity, another operator dispatched the call immediately. That way there is no delay for the 50 seconds on info before dispatching the officers. 911 operators have multiple screens so maybe some areas do operate that way. Most are able to send calls directly to police car computers. They don't always need to dispatch by voice.

that's the sound you make when you are killed instantly by a gunshot. It seems like the person who fired the shot was out of range for the phone to pick up, but that's the sound you make when killed while screaming. Like a bag pipe deflating.
On another note, I always love the stupid comments that are made. "Why doesn't the 911 operator do something!?!?!"
See, here's the thing. The operator isn't some fat housewife sitting back in a chair shooting the breeze... they are typing on a computer filling out an entire questionaire that is immediately being sent out to all nearby officers so they can react and know exactly what is going on. Asking things like "who shot you" isn't a question they ask just because they're curious. If the caller says "some old white guy in a wheel chair wearing a 'who farted' shirt shot me" then they know who to look for and they include that in the information being sent out.
I know most of you would just love to believe that it's all the 911 operator's fault for not getting there in time, but read a book or watch CSI before you let your stupidity become uncontained.
And TurboGuy... your comments to Juan Doe are kick ass.

The dispatchers do prioritize these calls, when something like this comes in they are supposed to "flag" it to indicate top priority and have another dispatcher get the cars rolling to the scene, while maintaining contact/dialog with the caller - problem is, often times the dispatcher's are not as "capable" as they should be (frequent problem in government agencies) and things get bogged down - sad, but true. Of course the slow-mo dispatcher then claims "I wasn't adequately trained-now I need to go out on workers comp".

Any of you 911 dispatchers?? If you are not or never have been a 911 dispatcher you have NO right to question how they do their job.
The 911 dispatcher that took the call did the right thing. I should know I am a 911 dispatcher with over 10 years of expirience. You have to stop and consider that cops, paramedics and firefighters (which I just happen to be also) are no superman or wonder woman.
As a 911 dispatcher it is my job to get the caller help as soon as possible but before you send in help you have to have information to give to the responders so they will know what they may be going up against.
As bad as it is, people die from sad and sometimes sadistic ways that most people could not understand but you can't help them if the people you send to help also get injured or killed

actually since 911 is made available thru tax payers dallars id say we have plenty right to question it.you think that if a civilian has any doubt about their safty we should just keep it to ourselves becuz its your job, not ours? i think not. things can always be improved.
keep in mind im not complaining about this case exactly, but to say we shouldnt care about how things are done that directly effect our safety and security is just, well, dumb.
