I have been lurking around here for a while now. I have to say that often, more shocking than the vids that are posted here are the comments. A lot of you guys show lack of acceptance, understanding, or even willingness to understand other cultures or opinions. What is the point of communication if you all cant learn something or another from one another? I find it really kind of sad that the brunt of the attacks are taken out on this Goli person - the obvious Muslim in the room. I bet if you all took the time to learn that the actual teachings of Islam are the complete opposite of of western portrayal, you would regret a lot of your words. Not every Catholic is a gay pedophile - but there sure are a lot of priests who fit that category. With all due respect, countless murders take place daily at the hands of the Bush administration, both in terms of American soldiers, and American civilians if you consider the costs of war that is NOT being put to use in an efficient medical system, homeland rescue (New Orleans comes to mind), proper education, creating employment, etc. Let us not bother mentioning the innocent Iraqis (who are not all Muslim) the innocent Afghanis, etc. Again, with respect, just because a country does something or believes in something different, it does not make them wrong - it makes them different. You talk about diversity and seeing other cultures as if you thought I was born with the Western culture and values. That's not true, I only adopted the culture later in life. As for the Bush administration's decision to topple Saddam's regime and occupy the country. I was at first glad to see an evil dictatorship perish, but was eventually disillusioned when the prospect of stability in Iraq looked dim with rampant daily violence and murders. Who do you blame for this failure and the death toll? The administration's decision was justified in that its aim was to bring democracy to Iraq (something unheard of in the region); and so long as the Iraqis cooperated and welcomed it the idea could have worked and had a happy ending. What Bush and his administration didn't take into consideration was the level of preparedness on the part of the Iraqi people. They have never experienced democracy before and so it just can't work now. Iran's 1979 revolution is a living testament to this. When the monarchist government was overthrown there was relative freedom of speech for a little while before the opposing groups were at each other's throats and the most brutal/primitive faction silenced everyone else with an iron fist taking over the country, and unsurprisingly it happened to be an Islamic religious group; which in case you deem them relatively tolerable, fact is it's very stupid/immoral. I should add that Islam itself is wrong/stupid/immoral. I have lived under the sharia law, I was forced to memorize koran in school when I was a kid, therefore I should know this my relativist friend.
