Being there in person would be a hell of a lot different. I'd say he was laughing at the enormity and pure power of it, and didn't run cos he was transfixed... amputee maybe.

Or on an opposing ridge...and you won't see one in wyoming, I lived there, almost the whole state is flat..

He may have seen this before, and knew the way that the valley went and where the snow would flow. He knew that he was safe where he was...(Well he hoped anyways)

The laugh was a crazy laugh....like the ones ya hear from dudes that almost got hit by cars that misses them by inches.
