Dude, I agree we can all help, but I just watched a fucked up video on LiveLeak about a good samaritan helping out a lady who had been struck by a van and she ended up being arrested. The reason? The pig, ops, the American cop asked her name at the same time as she was trying to get a cell phone to collect her baby. The cop got upset and handcuffed her. What a fucking prick... They might have seen this video and got really scared, even though this accident happened in Europe, right?

I agree cops are fucked up bastards .I rarely call people names but after an encounter with 2 during an accident which wasnt my fault but which they in their God like attitude thought was and then threatened to give me a ticket because I objected to their opinion, I feel fully justified in calling them every name in the book! Oh yes, and those cops didnt stay to see if I could get my damaged car started on that dark and rainy night.Fuck them all.

What do some of you mean, "help them out?" There's not much that could be done except call emergency services. Maybe they could sit next to them & comfort them by saying, it'll be alright, the paramedics are on their way. Oh & i have a big and a small band aid from my first aid kit, which one do you want.

man, this reminds me of the road to the Florida keys. There are a lot of accidents like that, usually all fatal because it has trucks and buses and cars on a 2 way road that is treated like a highway.

I don't think samaritan laws apply here. There's only so much you can do within reason. What are you gonna do if you come across something like that, pry apart metal with your bare hands?...because that's what it would have taken to get half those people out of the cars. The dude in yellow laying in the street is the luckiest of them all. ....and I believe that guy in the last frame was in his death throes.... Definitely highspeed accident.

Alot of people are bitching because noone was helping, but honestly, there wasn't much that could be done. Everyone in that video (minus homeboy in the white coat) were fucking pizza toppings. Say someone did attempt to help him and he had a spinal injury, congratulations, you just did more harm than good.
The only thing you can do is, call Fire/Rescue/EMS, sit with the guy and try to comfort him til they arrive, and thank God, Buddah, Allah that your ass isn't hamburger.

If by "help" you mean "comfort", I agree. But even the guy laying in the street should not be moved without a neck/head brace, a "strap you down and keep you from moving" backboard, and a stretcher. Instead of filming, make sure the dude doesn't move until help arrives. And not just because of spinal injuries. For all we know, the guy could have had a bad cut or puncture wound on his chest and that the asphalt was helping stop the bleeding. I will agree, however, that standing there and filming is rather douchebaggyish (is that a word?) thing to do.

Once stopped at an accident scene where someone had been run over trying to escape some scumbags. No one had even bothered to see if he was alive, they all just assumed he was dead, turned out he was still alive when I checked (though he later died in hospital).What really got me was that there is a toys r us right next to where it happened and the parents were coming to look at the accident with their kids. At one point I had to walk up the motorway to retrieve the lower part of his leg and the crowd where just standing there kids and all like it was just a film or game. One guy objected when I asked him to pull his van over so the ambulance could get through, another suddenly admitted he was an off duty police officer and a woman who finally decided to admit she had medical training. To this day I still cant understand why they all did or didnt do anything constructive. I still occasionally have nightmares about it all especially carrying his leg and the crowd all just stood there watching.
