I caught some scum bag trying to get into my house once. I gave him a beating and he ran off. When the police caught him, I told them that I had beat him. The police officer said that it was not a problem and that I did the right thing. With a knowing nod.

Yeah, you're right. I was at a baseball game and some kid started fighting the security guards. He was running away, and ran right by me. I faced a dilemma, tackle his ass and help out the security guards, and possibly get in trouble myself or just let him run. I chose the latter, as I'd rather not fuck myself over.
