Thats the Heysel stadium riot from the mid 80's - I watched it live on TV at the time and the rock bouncing off that guys head has always stuck in my mind. I think it was Liverpool V Juventus or something like that. A shitload of Italian fans died in a stampede to get away from the Liverpool hooligans and British teams got banned from international football for a few years. Stupid fucking game anyway.

we (aberdeen) came to liverpool - 88 i think it was for a friendly - we were singing 'where this thing called the kop'and we got a suprising reaction fromn the thugs in the next stand - they sang ' the kop is an abortion' got us a bit confused that did.
And we didnt get a kicking after the game - we had a few scuffles but nothing major.

I wish they'd just make rioting a sport.
It's fucking awesome. No rules, full contact, lots of action, no half time bullshit.
Just pure fun. I could watch this shit all day every day.
Some ideas to make it even better (if that's even possible)-
1. Incorperate dangerous wildlife into the mix.
2. No authority (unless they want to play).
3. A blimp overhead with a "Riot Overlord" who drops random weapons about.
4. Put a sign outside that reads 'MOSQUE----->"
5. Fire moats, quick sand, and free liquor.
6. SLAYER is cranked over the PA's.
7. Put your own team together-just dress alike so you know who you are.
8. Winning team gets to loot the deads houses after. (positive ID required to play).

I never understood riot cops, just empty a few rounds into the crowd heading toward you and nuture should take it's course. Maybe that's why I'm not a cop. 
as rightly stated this was from L'pool vs Juventus at heysel stadium, it was after the main trouble so the riot cops knew that many ppl had died and the Juve fans unfurled a banner that said 'Reds Animals', hence causing fighting to start again; sorta explains their lack of empathy towards the guy.
Incidentally, many british journalists spoke of seeing british fans from numerous other clubs in the Liverpool end; lending support or just there for a problem? 39 ppl died at heysel.
