Yes, both contributed a pretty fair share of negligence as far as we can see. It did seem like the biker could've done more to avoid it despite his speeding.

What if the car was disabled like this one appeared to be? Bikers (and I am one) need to ride defensively. All drivers need to react to whatever reasonably enters their path. And besides -he should have hit his flux capacitor switch.

Disabled? No likely at all. According to Newton's first law of motion an object will stay at rest or continue at a constant velocity unless acted upon by an external force. Therefore when you're traveling at high speeds in a highway, once your engine stops rotating the wheels the car will gradually slow down, not suddenly, unless there is a 200km/s wind, or if you're going uphill which don't appear to be the case here.
"Bikers (and I am one) need to ride defensively. All drivers need to react to whatever reasonably enters their path." A biker should go fast in a highway, that's why he's in a highway, to go fast. And once you go fast in a bike you can't just evade obstacles that suddenly appear in front of you without completely losing control and crashing, unless you're a moto race champion with cat's reflexes.

I think the bike was going too fast and the car was going too slow. It's a case of "he wasn't there a second ago". The video isn't telling us the whole story, like why was the bike in the right lane and why was the car (vintage 1961!) going 10kph.
As for Scott's other video... well that was a clear case of retarded woman driver.
