Yep it sure the hell was. Scary shit. I hate the circus. All of them I should say. I saw an elephant getting the hell gaffed out of it at a Shriner's Circus and never went back. The elephant was just standing there and there was no reason to do it. Fucking animal cruelty at it's best. It's no wonder some any of the animals are skiddish or rampage.

Horses are usually well-treated since they are valuable, and parade-trained horses even more so. But they do spook easily. One of them probably got startled by a plastic bag blowing around in the street or something, and freaked out.
