I saw on "Cops" usually theyll arrest you if you admit youve done drugs in the last 24 hours. Its illegal to be under the influence of drugs at anytime even if youre not driving. Very sad.

I don't think they can do anything unless they find shit on you. You can tell cops you smoke pot all you want but they have to have a legit reason to search you first because you can always just say you were just messin around. They probably searched his car and they didn't show it on camera but then again it's California so I dunno. Having weed in your car isn't a huge deal in california anyways. I've had 2 possession tickets and its like 150 bucks. Last time I got stopped I had a booger of hash on me, and for some reason they see hash the same way they see meth, even though it's made directly from weed. I've had that done to me on a few occasions, not for pot, but stuff like not beating around the bush. Cop out to what you HAVE to during a stop, the ONLY thing an officer hates worse than a violent suspect is belligerence or lying, because their job is basically one huge lie-detection test. 80-90% of the time you can improve your situation a shitload just by being reasonably compliant.
This includes (while on the topic): turning on your dome light when stopped at night, turning off your car, etc. Cops do appreciate that kind of stuff and are sometimes perfectly willing to let you off light. This doesn't mean you always tell them about the 'dro you hotboxed in your driveway... but meh, it's better he said that than perhaps making an obvious lie. The cop smelled it, you know it. And you know the car was possibly getting a search if he denied it.

Good point if a cop smells weed and you deny anything, the cars probly going to get searched. Take it from a person who smokes, and who has taken that sobriety test a thousand times, its good to tell the truth, however, hold whatever that will put you in jail. no reason in giving up your stash just to be honest and go to jail.
