Volunteer firemen are one thing, but volunteer IED disarming? That's just asking to explode yourself.

the dude at the end didnt even care bout the bodies jus picked up the gun and realized it was damaged too what a waste

The Iraqis often try to disarm IEDs without any safety devices or security. They often succeed, but sometimes they don't. I guess they just roll the dice each time. If there is an anti-handling device on the IED, they're usually killed.
