I just realized how fucking pissed off this video made me. As soon as the idiots said to take him to the H, I recalled the fact that probably all of the other stupid stunt videos that I've seen from idiots/untrained morons (without safety) were also probably rushed to the H...can you imagine how much time and effort that hard-working, trained emergency health workers around the country is being wasted on these assholes who are just going to do it again? We have people in various local tragedies, accidents on the road, etc., all of which could need immediate and serious medical help...idiots such as in the vids just better not be using up the time of these workers when important incidents strike.

I vote for new law: If you're so much of an idiot to not wear safety protection and/or to not stay away from doing jackass-like stunts without proper training, then you don't deserve treatment from these workers, you can just suffer for the rest of the day and then get in the back of the line.

If you so strongly rely on laughing at videos of people hurting themselves, then don't assume that I expect people to wear safety all of a sudden (which you wrongly assumed!). In fact, they can keep submitting videos of them getting hurt, we'll all laugh it up, and then they can suffer for their lives with a permanent scar.

I worked in healthcare too and it is the idiots who come to ERs when they have a cold and refuse to be told that there's nothing seriously wrong with them.
You can spend hours just trying to get them to go home, it only takes a few minutes to stitch up a face.

Because any idiot could imitate, to various extents, the actions relevant to that sports, but it's not "PLAYING SPORTS" unless the person has a FUCKING COMPETITION. Oh, but then let's say further that you could define a sport to be a 1-person hobby, which is just...a HOBBY, not a SPORT. But ignoring that, if he takes skateboard out on a casual joyride, then he's not being any more "sporty" about it than joggers. So, what he was doing in the video was not necessarily relevant to a sport, but more of a hobby. And so no matter how you define sports in the spectrum of contexts that you've used so far, he's still stupid for not having some kind of protection.

I'll admit that I am a hypocrite; there is no way I would let my daughter skate without her helmet. Hopefully her generation will accept helmets (more people on the ski hills wear them than not). It's too late for me though...the damage is done. IF ballroom dancing can make into the Olympics then skating surely is a sport, no?

Why are they incorrect? Because FREE TIME ACTIVITIES ARE NOT SPORTS! Again, under your definition, anyone blading, boarding, and so forth by that water fountain just outside the clothing stores at 2:00pm would be in a sport. They're not! They're blading and boarding ON THEIR FREE TIME. You have to COMMIT to a SCHEDULE and REGULATIONS that are generally OFFICIAL before you can say that the person is in a sport. It matters not if the boarder is talented, because then a retiree of a sport who plays with, say, their children, or by oneself would still be in a sport, but it's still not: it's a hobby.
