When the starting gun goes off he has a flashback. You see, when he was a toddler his 200 pound mother was pistol whipping his 90 pound father and the gun went off. Thus sending him running AND screaming from the room. Its not funny he's scarred for life. After each race they put him back in the straight jacket and its back to the rubber room. Its a shame when you really stop to think about it.
