Most dog will do that if you just raise them like fam. My Jack Russell will growl even if a well known friend pushes me, and my Akita/Husky will take you down. Once you're on the ground, I'd really watch out for the Jack, because now your throat is within reach. My Akita/Husky has a strong bite too, you can pick up her entire 60 lb frame (she's still a puppy), and swing her 360 and up and down and she can hold on. Nylar bones only last a week with her, she breaks them in half. Now my Cat, well, let's just say ur better off gettin it from the dogs. She's like a damn wild Bobcat, and anyone who knows her, even friends, are terrified of her.

Good dog. Looked completely at ease protecting his human. Teaching a dog to do this naturally, without abuse, is an amazing thing if you look at it deep enough.
