Poor kid, he probably loved that horse and that will scar him. The dad is a doofus, I'm all for not shouting at kids, but when there's an imminent danger of injury you SHOUT at anyone, kid or adult and explain later. What if he got kicke dint he head and died?

If you cant put gas in it, I am not getting on it. Fuck that. I had a friend that was ridding and the horse bolted in front of a car. That fucker (the friend) still cant walk right. For the horse, it was a sudden death kind of thing. He had to pay for the damage don't to the car also.

You know what... I care a lot about animals. I think people who intentionally mistreat them are scum. But once in awhile I wonder what the deal is with a particular animal. Like with this horse. Maybe he's been really mistreated and doesn't trust anyone... if that's the case, ok. But otherwise, if he's your typical fairly intelligent, well-treated horse, what's he doing kicking a little, harmless kid? He could see how small the kid was, that he wasn't carrying anything that could be used to hurt him. And yet he still feels the need to kick the kid... Like others have said, even if the kid wasn't seriously injured physically, I'm sure emotionally it hurt a lot.
So yeah, what I'm saying is that this horse was acting like a total jerk, and if there was a way of (humanely) punishing him, in a way that he would understand why it was being done, it should be.

Horses always do that if you approach them from behind without them knowing you're there. It's a reflex that damn near all horses are born with. That's why the kid's dad told his dumb ass not to stand behind him. If anything the kid got punished for his own stupidity. Damn I hate kids.

As I worked on a farm, a horse stepped onto one of my feet.
Although it were safety shoes, I had pain in my foot for one month and one footnail fell off later.
So I don´t want to know how a hit will feel like.
