Karate is NOT useless! I took Karate for 18 years & mastered the art & one day I was walking in a rough neighborhood & this concrete block jumped out of nowhere and attacked me. Well, I instantly took three practice swings at it & then BROKE it's ass. I left it there on the sidewalk in a pool of its own ruble. I was sure glad I took those classes!

That's a standard concrete block used for building central internal walls, etc. breeze blocks are far coarser and would crumble, plaster is generally smoother and a lot harder.
The one thing you can say about the Brainiac show Is that they use the proper stuff

You do realize that plaster is actually heavier and denser than one of these light weight concrete blocks. It is also has more shock absorbant qualities than this type of concrete. Concrete is strong in compression but unless strengthened with steel, it is actually quite brittle.

Billy Banks prowess has improved greatly.

They score the breeze block on the sides and bottom with a stanley knife, which has a nice sharp, but more to the point, narrow blade. So you can't see the deep score on the block. It only takes relatively little force to cause the brick to fail along the score line.

Some people don't have any trouble picking up a half of a block(whatever the material (6-12 lbs) ), if you would get off your ass and work out you wouldn't either.
