The injuries sustained to her face could have resulted from 1 single blow to the face. Like falling on the floor and landing face first because your hands are cuffed behind your back. The 2 black eyes would be a result of a severely broken nose. There is no indication that the cop hit her. He was trying to get her to sit down and she was resisting. She COULD have just fallen and whacked her face flat on the floor. I'm not saying that this is what happenned. I'm just saying that this is a possibility.

As for "corruption" and the supposed deletion of video evidence, has it not occurred to you people that maybe the officer shut the camera off because he was about to leave the room? Maybe the tape was running low and he didn't want to waste what was left on ... filming a suspect sitting by herself in a chair.

It seems perfectly plausible to me that the officer shut the camera off and left the room. And that upon his return he found the _drunk and unruly_ woman lying on the floor in a pool of her own blood due to her own actions. There is NO evidence at all that her injuries were not completely self-inflicted.
Add to the picture, the fact that she had been arrested for running over some innocent person whilst drunk at the wheel of a vehicle and we can even start to build a _motive_ which might explain her injuries being _deliberately self-inflicted_ as a means of generating a scandal, sympathy and possibly avoiding a very serious charge (for all she knew, the person she is alleged to have run over may of died.)

If I am not mistaken, that is a meter for measuring alcohol in the breath which she is being sat next to. The most likely scenario from the evidence presented here is that the suspect knew she would fail a blood alcohol test and subsequently be convicted of running over / killing someone whilst DUI.
In order to avoid this outcome, she severely injured herself whilst the officer was absent, in the hope that this would get her out of having to take the test, most likely by slamming her head against a table in the room. Notice the pattern of blood, a large pool mostly in one place, not indicative of a melee or struggle, but of someone remaining in one place after having sustained the injuries. The officer returns, switches on the camera and tells the woman to stay where she is (for her own safety.)
In my opinion this is a perfectly plausible scenario and more likely than the officer having beaten the woman, considering that he seemed perfectly calm and level headed (in contrast to her violent outbursts.)

If the cop was smart enough to turn off the camera while he beat her, why would he be stupid enough to turn it back on and incriminate himself?

Truth, some day we're going to have to introduce you to the wonderful concept of "circumstantial evidence" and "motive". Women don't just brutally beat themselves while in police custody. Tapes recording the incident don't mysteriously leave out a relevant section where the beating probably happened.
For those who are wondering, that's reason "the charges were dropped" against the woman. It avoids any form of an criminal inquiry BY THE STATE into this incident. If she chose to file a civil suit, like others said, it's her word against his and there's a good chance at least one jury member will also be a cop groupie.
It's sickening, really.

What did this woman do to deserve that severe of a beating? She was cuffed and couldn't do the officer any harm except for non-bodily-inflicted verbal insults. From what I see the officer needs to be charged in a court of law and sent to prison.

The video is so edited, we don't know whether the officer did it, or the person in handcuffs did it herself because she was struggling, could have landed on her face on the floor on her own.

First off....we don't know what happened because someone edited the tape..whos to say it was the cops that edited it? How many people had this tape before it was posted here?
I'm a police officer and am offended at what happened to this lady, he should never have even tried to administer the intoxylizer test due to her combativenes, he should have known that this could happen. BUT>>>>>>>>> The tape does not show me that this officer beat her. Her injuries could have occured as a result of her falling; and without her hands to stop her fall, she could have sustained this type of injury. It doesn't make him less responsible, but its certainly not a criminal act if she's resisting and falls due to her drunken combativeness.

Since you claim to be a police officer, treat the circumstances surrounding this incident as you might if you were investigating a crime. Who had exclusive access to a videotape being recorded in a police station on police equipment? (hmmm...) What criminal motive would those people have for editing the tape? If the unbroken footage exonerated the officer there wouldn't be any need to edit a section out, now would there?
-As for the incident itself, again, treat it like a police investigation. You get called to a house and you find a woman lying in a puddle of her own blood covered with bruises. Her husband says (as the officer did here) "she fell". Would you, as a police officer, really believe that?
-Since in this case it's a fellow police officer who's involved, instead of just some drunken wifebeater, your perspective has dramatically shifted from enforcing the law to finding any justification, no matter how far fetched, for why it was broken.

Yea it looked like the tape was either stopped or covered up. That camera is there to protect the cop. Covering it up would make no sense. Whether she fell on her own or was beaten the world will never know. It's druken woman's word against the cops CYOA. I don't know what the policy is but I'm sure there is more than just the one option of putting her in a room and forcing her coherance. Then again, your best option is not being drunk in public.

I'm going to take the different route here and say the unstable drunken slut, who just got done driving drunk and performing a hit and run, tried to go for that door after he sat her down. The cuffs are on and she couldn't use her arms to break her fall and faceplants. With all 130lbs of weight, add all the liquor and other men's dna in the mix, and that's enough for those injuries. I find it hard to believe she aggravated the cop to an extent where he decided to violently pummel her once he has her restrained, but that doesn't bode well with the news and cop-haters, does it?

To answer your question; hard. I've hit/seen people hit hard enough in the chin/cheek/nose/forehead to where both their eyes blacken. It's just blood building up enough pressure to where it escapes the cavity and storing under the epidermis. To answer your other question; crisis control. When you fell you probably had both arms to catch yourself and break your fall. My point with saying "hit" was she most likely landed on her chin/cheek/or forehead with all of her weight/momentum which would be more than enough force to cause the damage. hmm..or maybe she did fall, tried standing up and fell, and fell again..and again...the cop was actually kind enough to shut off the camera, not to embarrass her. The cop then advised her, it would be better if she would just lay there still and try not to stand up. Paramedics came and pushed her off with a cast on her neck and an oxygen mask, because paramedics had confirmed she had did the impossible by doing a 6 repetitive face fall...ermm..i guess i too tell a good story better than any of you or the cops out there.

Not sure if it has already been stated or not BUT. It is policy during an interrogation to turn off the camera. Nice little loophole for the Cops JUST IN CASE they need to be a little more convincing. I live in Shreveport and know the lady involved in this case. She used to work for a Judge and has hired the best attorney in the city. SPD is going to pay a VERY nice chunk of change for this one.
