Hey, I live in South Africa and that was what formed part of the strugle. Guess what? It was black people fighting black people.... white people here always get blamed for everything which happened in the past. The tables have turned, white farmers are being robbed, tortured and even killed, yet our government failes to protect it citizens. Just my two cents.

Lets get it all right from the start. I am a white Sout-african male. Firstly it was rubber bullets used for crowd control, the foor kaffers got killed by RUBBER bullets. Secondly, they are all citizens from transkei and not south africa. I respect your opinion. Our government has been promoting transformation and reconciliation since 1994. We've had the Truth and Reconciliation Commission which saw apartheid criminals(on both sides) ask their victims for forgiveness. That was a whole lot of bull crap if you ask me, cause all the perpetrators were looking for a way to get out of a lengthy jail term. Why should our generation, blacks and whites, still be held acountable for what happened in the past. Here, the rich are getting richer and the poor, fucked over. I still love this country though and will do my bit to contribute to uniting the people of the rainbow nation!

lets look at it like this: The south sfrican rugby team (springboks) are now the world champs and ranked no 1 in the world. Our coach gets fired cause he does not have enough black players in the team. Our rugby players have to go play in Europe rugby to make money to survive. Our soccer is ranked 72 in the world and keepps on dropping week by week. Our soccer coach gets payed 1,8 mil a month even though he does not get any rusults. This racist attittude does not reflect the attitude of all South Africans. Very simply, if you cannot contribute positively to life, your country, your family, then fnd another hole to bury your head in. The past is the past, the way it is is the way it is. The biggest problem whether you are in South Africa or USA is that you should stop thinking about all this krap and focus on yourseld and your contribution to life.

We are very lucky as white South Africans that we are still welcome in our own country.

NO OFFENSE INTENDED TO ANYONE, - BUT -
as a white male in USA , over the age of ...NOT IMPORTANT ...... i do feel a definit "double standard" in many ways, and really do not think i deserve it, nor do most of the other "white folk" i know. No one in my family ever had slaves, or mistreated or disrespected people of ANY race, or color - yet, i spent many years working in a predominantly black agency and i could not help but feel "discriminated" against when "most" of my co-workers got a total "free ride" getting their children in the "better" colleges (i.e. Johns Hopkins, Howard, Loyola, Notre Dame) and I had to pay, because i was not - minority, single parent, foreign, veteran or disabled - they also got "minority privileges" regarding housing, loans, child care and other things -
As far as the "name calling" crap - IT'S ONLY A WORD - i listened to the guys at work call each other "nigger" all day, and the black supervisors and administrators referred to us "other people" as "those god damned white motha fuckers" - but if one of us "white motha fuckers" slipped and said ANYTHING that could be construed as "offenseive" in any way, (i.e.-"you people", "boy", calling someone "out of their name" in any way) that was considered justification for physical assault, disciplinary action, dismissal - or "all the above"
I understand, and appreciate, there are "good and bad" in all groups - but - i really think this thing of "revenge against the white man" has gone a bit too far, and quite possibly - is now one of the main reasons for a continued "bad feelings" between the races - maybe if the "black folk" could cut back on the "aggressiveness" and "instilled hatred" against the "white folk" for past history - we could all settle down and live a little more peacefully.

ok... this might sound that Im being picky... and not wanting to undermine the severity of this incident or the comments of individauls already posted... 
but the video clip heading states that there were 29 people killed in 2 minutes of automatic gunfire giving a kill ratio of 4.1secs of gunfire per kill... however the reporter clearly states that there were only 28 people killed in 2 1/2 minutes of automatic gunfire... which means that the real kill ratio was 5.35secs per kill... ... further more... I like to think that we live in a free worl and anyone, no matter what color his skin maybe, where his roots or ancestors maybe from should be treated as an equal... 
The only time a fellow human being should be treated differently is if they bleed a different color to that of yourself or if they nick your car, cheat with your wife or drink the last beer out of the cooler box...
