Some maniac in a Mercedes was being a real douche to me on the freeway once; hardcore tailgating, pacing, etc. When he passed me, I flipped him the bird. He tried to run me off the road (with his wife and kids in the car -- real class act). Moral: don't respond to provocation when you're on the road. Remove yourself from the situation.

so you put yourself in the situation and almost got run off the road....would you have been pissed if he actually hit your car?? or would you say "I guess I deserved that for flipping him off" ? point I was making is that no matter what you do on the road, you dont deserve to get your car ( in this case daddy's car) smashed up. and that dude had the nerve to get out and ask for the license and registration of the car he just rammed into...

Actually I was agreeing with you that provocation is stupid and should be avoided. And I don't think that black guy had the right to ask the other guy for his license and registration. Courtesy obliges providing proof of insurance to another driver in a collision, but nothing else.
