Here in America, especially given the chance he could cause a serious collision at an intersection, cops have the right to stop him. actually he didnt run infront of the cop the cop ran in front of him, and he was on a motorcycle, he was in no positin to be doing loads of damage to civilians, its not like he was in a truck, and since u bring up the in America thing... in most places when risks to civilians are too high they are supposed to discontinue the chase, so either way, they most likely werent following guidlines, or they didnt believe there was so much risk.

No I DON'T expect police to kill a suspect merely trying to get away on a bike. I'd expect them to trail him till he gives up, box him in, stinger his tires, set up roadblocks...whatever the most appropriate non fatal action is for the scenario. Which is much less risky then causing a RTA of this nature. Anyway you assume said child murderer is guilty. Only a jury of 12 can decide that...kid!

I have never posted here before but thought I would give it a shot. First the cop was in an attempt to stop a fleeing criminal. Any person kows that if you run from the police they are going to chase. I found that out when I was 15 and on a dirt bike riding it on the strret at 3 am. ;-) So this guy chose to run on a bike. had he fled on a bike this clip would not even be on this site. As much as I agree that this was not the best choice for the cop to make under the circumstances i know (which is not more than you see here). We can not negate the fact there may be more to this story. Law allows for a police officer to use deadly force to stop a fleeing criminal if there if they are in fear of that person causing serious physical harm or death to someone else. Police CAN be judge, jury and executioner if need be. just the same as if you were defending a love one, or yourself, from harm you can be too. Police are just given more leeway because of there training and what they have seen.
But let's give kudos where they are due. The driver bounced up from that so fast I actually had to rewind it as I thought it was someone walking the other way. WOW

Just because someone can do something doesn't mean they should though. I agree he needed to be stopped. But the way they did it wad brutal and reckless. There are other ways that may have taken a bit longer, but would have had the same effect minus the potentially fatal RTA.

1) The cop was swerving as he approached the biker. He was probably trying to get him to have to veer out of the way and dump the bike.

I have absolutely no sympathy for the guy on the bike. Pursuits are always dangerous, they are dangerous for other innocent members of the public, for the police themselves, and for the suspect. We could always say no pursuits ever but that would allow criminals a free reighn to do what they like and evade prosecution. Is there anybody on this site that does not know that when police officers tell you to stop you should stop its the law. Pursuits are ALWAYS ALWAYS initiated by the suspect. When the sirens go on and they dont stop, they should take responsibility foor the outcome. Instead what we get is the police getting blamed for casualties when in fact if the suspect is always to blame. Its easy to avoid, just fucking stop. Most suspects escape because they take risks with other peoples lives that the police simply will not take. If the guy on the bike had killed somone else the cop haters on here would still have blamed the police.
