I miss Liacon. This place is not the same without him. Capricious, mercurial and often egotistical, I know he had his faults, but who amongst us does not? He was always honest, often amusing, and the interplay between himself and his wife was played out on these pages rather touchingly. I realise some of you guys may not agree, but I miss his presence here.

that's so sad. here in the states, there are many rescue/rehabilitation programs just for this sort of thing. you should see some of the TV commercials.
Vets of every size and color, looking wistfully at the camera with such sad eyes, yearing for someone to come and adopt them.
It's so pitifull.

So true. Vets may seem like a good Christmas present for the kids, but the fun soon wears off. That's when older vets are usually left to fend for themselves ... or tied in a bag and thrown in the river.
