Yeah but Jack Russel terriers are only bread to go after people named Jack Russel. Nowadays, after the successful extinction of all pesty people named Jack Russel they are only keep for show. 
On occasion they have been know to become frustrated and bite men named either Jack or Russel but a dog got to do what a dogs got to do.

I think its based on breading and how they are trained. You see a lot of nasty little dogs they just don't have the bite power. I've known pits that are gentle as a lap dog and others that are crazier than a shithouse rat.

I think some people should be put to sleep too... / Anyway, I've seen retreviers, spaniels, bishons and chiuauas(?) a lot more agresive then pits. Why don't put all of them to sleep? / In fact, I have never seen an agresive pit in my entire life - and I've seen some, trust me! Gues it's all in the way you treat them...

Gameface is right. Statistically more people get bit by cocker spaniels than pits. Pits are like 6 or 7 or even lower on the list for bites. And its probably that high because of gangster lowlifes and rednecks rasing and crossing crazy dogs and torturing them to be mean. The only reason you fear pits is b/c of media and the sensationalization of "pitbull attacks". Half the time they are not even pits. Would you tune in and watch "cocker spaniel attacks child".

I have seen many news reports of Pittbull attacks, and when the dogs are actually shown, low and behold...they are not pits. The dogs gets the rap for being such a vicious dog, but actually account for a small percentage of attacks. Of the actual pit attacks, the dogs owner is normally a piece of shit. I own 2 pits, my son 1, and my sister another. All females, and all great dogs, that are great with kids, other animal, and even strangers. OH, by the way, we are all WHITE...but are far from TRASH. All of the above mentioned pit-owners have university degrees, live in very nice neighborhoods, and have high paying jobs.
