I can't change the color of my white skin and niether can that kid change the color of his black skin. But one thing we all can do is learn to show each other some common human respect, but sadly the course of human evolution has gone terribly astray as displayed here and I simply don't see such happening.
Our predecessors brought them over to pick our cotton and now we have to accept the consequences of their actions. We knew they were evolutionarily-deficient then and still integrated them into our society. One thing I've seen from childhood on is that little niggers will be little niggers and little rednecks will be little rednecks...The difference is miniscule when you open your eyes to the big picture.
Skin color should only be relevant in identifying a person (for good, ill, or neutral reasons) and in identifying illnesses that TEND to target specific races. Sadly, that is not the case and even more sad is the fact that there are FAR more black racists in this nation than white racists, despite the population difference.
If I put my shoe on the other foot I really can't blame blacks for hating the color of my skin. But I can't blame whites either for profiling blacks the way we do. Although I was raised by a liberal extremist to be "colorblind", I still do it myself and I don't feel guilty about it. When I deliver a pizza (part time job) to a "black neighborhood" I do worry about being robbed just because of the color of my skin. When my black co-worker delivers a pizza in a "white neighborhood" he doesn't worry about being robbed in the least AND such has yet to happen even once. And to top that off, at least he gets tips from both the blacks and the whites for the most part. I have gotten 2 tips from black customers out of hundreds, and it breaks my heart to know that it's because I'm white.
The irony of it all is so self-evident...Whites tought blacks how to be racist. Not one African tribe understood the concept of racism, much less had a word for it in their primitive languages. Now they've caught up with us and they're pissed off...and I doubt I would be any different if my skin was brown.
To African-Americans reading this, do however understand one thing...I exercise my right to bear arms and have a concealed-weapons permit.
