He jumps up to ensure the ball doesn't hit his cap. Fool shoulda ducked insteadda leaping in the air like a house wife encountered by a mouse.
That's why you're supposed to keep your shoulder in, instead of opening up like a dumbshit trying to stop the ball your hand and take it on the shoulder and/or helmet instead of the face. If it was a sick breaking ball (heh, breaking), he coulda thrown the bat out there and took it to the opposite field had he used correct technique. I blame the coaches, not enough beanball drills!
