It's just a knife, not a skateboard. Leave him alone.

Whatever country this was... a security guard is most certainly something different than what a security guard is in America.
For the record... if anyone ever visits the US & a security guard has an issue with you-just piss on his shoes and keep walking.
Oh, and if the real police show up- they'll piss on him too.

Security guard ?? why's he dressed like a fireman?
GOOD JOB ANYWAY, MATE!! Good to see a man takin his responsibility serious - if the dick had a knife - he NEEDED to be taken down. If the knife had a dick, he would also need to be takin down - just wanted to be FAIR & EQUAL - YA KNOW HOW IMPORTANT PC IS NOW-A-DAZE

Not a smart idea to go against someone with a knife...a knife will do more damage than a gun at close range in the hands of trained fighter.
There are some people who will say "well, I learned how to take a knife away from people in my Karate Class"...those people have never faced a real situation. If you want to see what happens in a real scenario...I have taken a few pictures I've taken of dead people with the knife still in them. I also have a couple of trained fighters with their bodies gaping open because they attempted to take a knife away from someone. If you're faced with a knife, better to run if you have the chance. If someone pulls a knife on me I would try to get them to drop it...if they advanced, I would use lethal force...

Its better this guy deal with this situation than someone els. He didnt just take a Karate class to learn that. He used kicks to traumatize his enemys arms, affectively loosening his grip on the knife and decreasing the enemys desire to continue the fight. When the enemy realizes he is out matched he turns to run and the guard siezes him by the neck and executes a very affective take down. The kicks this guard was using where a specific type of kick designed to aproach the forearm from a vulnerable area of the weapon, while alowing the kicker to maintain balance and manueverability. The tip of the boot is rammed into the arm repetedly causing a considerable amount of pain and dispositioning of the enemys attack. This guy is good at this type of shit. I bet hes glad he doesnt get a gun. He likes to use his skills in real life and death situations. I dont realy know, Its just a guess.

I am a real cop and teach real tactical police techniques. I also have been teaching multi-range martial arts since the early 80s. I still grapple 2 times a week and work with area SWAT Teams on close range combat and fire arm scenarios. I post my opinion from experience in the field and as a police officer. Please share what your background is and how many times you have faced a person with a weapon as well as bringing the situation to a closure such as arrest or stopping the assault. Like I mentioned before, there are many people who think they will do this or that without actually having any experience in a real scenario...this is very dangerous especially if you are telling or teaching people what to do if they are threaten with a knife.

Im sorry for coming across as a preachy wanker. I didnt mean any offence to you, nor did I mean to put bad ideas into the minds of others. I was merly trying to say that this guard seemed more prepared for this situation than most people would be and its better that he was involed. I believe that you know what you are talking about and that you have the credentials and experience to councel others in matters of combat. My credentials are not noteworthy and my experiences of street brutality are limited. I denounce my statments to those of one who knows little and hope for the sake of those who visit this site that your advice and council will be taken into very real and serious consideration.

I didn't think you came across as a wanker at all and have to apologize to you if I came across as I was disrespecting you or judging you for your comment, If I did, I am truly sorry! I value everyone’s opinions and ideas and keep an open mind to all aspects. I have had some very bad experiences and have responded to very serious calls involving a knife. My opinion was to share the importance of why Cops use deadly force against knives...they do not try to use a knife or ASP (baton)...they pull their gun and shoot. I wanted to share with other readers or those who would be interested that it is best to take off if they can. Obviously if you're cornered you have to do what you have to do. Once again if I came across in a disrespectful manner to you, please accept my apology.

Utilizing wooden or plastic knifes during training is a good way for developing students of close quaters combat arts to develope the crutial yet obscure skill of properly isolating and controling the enemys arms during standing grapple. And it forces the student to be more weary of making a slopy inital aproach towards the enemy. One aproach that somtimes works is a quick front snap kick to the arm coupled with quick stomp kicks towards the knees. This footage has a demonstration of the first mentioned kick. Oh, and I espetially like the way he utilizes hand gestures to make the enemy hesitate and reconsider. Be well during you studys and be safe while you work.........er, I forgot to mention. My comments are just about studying the arts. It is extreamly important for people to avoid anyone wielding a knife or any weapon. Its best to stay the hell out of the way and let the profesionals take care of the bad guys.

to use a knife on someone means getting personal...i could shoot some1 from a distance without hesitation, but impaling some1 with a sharp object is ruthless.

As a Airforce Security Forces I have to agree with N-T-Fan on this. if I have nothing at all to use for defense and somebody pulls a knife on me, Ill wait for backup before getting into a close range situation.
Though on the flip side if I reason to believe this knife wielding crazy will hurt another by my waiting Ill take him down by any means sense that is my job.
Probably what this guard was thinking at the time, If I do not stop him who knows what he will do.

I have been lucky enough to take down 2 edged weapon offenders using a baton.
In hindsight I was more stupid and lucky than skillful.
Nice to see the bystanders helped (not).
People with knives should be shot.
